Voteworks, Businesses Promote the Vote was a project of National Voice, a Tides Center Project. Voteworks is a 501c3 non-partisan initiative whose mission is to engage small and large businesses to maximize public participation in our nation's democratic process by getting people registered and to the polls.

In 2004, Voteworks also partnered with National Voice's "November 2" project, a national non-partisan media campaign working with hundreds of non-partisan groups and socially responsible businesses to co-brand "November 2" and promote a unified focus on voter engagement.

Voteworks also partnered with key organizations that provide the necessary tools for businesses to successfully launch a voter engagement program. For more information check out our Partner Initiatives.

Our team is led by Suzanne Biegel, a business owner who won Entrepreneur of the Year and Woman of the Year in Los Angeles for the work of her socially responsible and innovative training and communications firm. She is now a partner in the firm MusicMatters. The project also had extensive participation by Mark Ritchie, Executive Director of National Voice coalition; Working Assets, providing Your Vote Matters online voter registration capability; the state PIRGs' New Voters Project; dozens of members of Social Venture Network, and a host of volunteers donating their time.
