Seventh Generation
"Business leaders join with me. We have a voice in this country and a responsibility to reach people not with our agenda or opinion, rather with the inspiration that to be involved with this democracy is the only way to make it work, is the only way to meet the challenges we face as a nation. Reach out to your employees, your customers, your stakeholders and other business leaders - encourage them to get involved - get registered, know the issues, know who is running and vote on November 2nd." Jeffrey Hollender, CEO Seventh Generation Seventh Generation, as the nation's leading brand of non-toxic and environmentally safe household products, is not only fostering environmental change through their company, but social change as well. Seventh Generation, whose name is derived from the Iroquois belief that "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations," is considering the future of our society in launching their new Promote the Vote Campaign and inspiring people to make a difference. In their dedication to providing customers with the resources and inspirations they need to make informed and responsible decisions, Seventh Generation is ensuring that their employees are registered to vote in the upcoming election and also giving them paid time off on November 2 to use to go out and vote. But it doesn't stop there, all employees interested are being offered 10 hours of paid time off between August 1 and November 2 to work on the issue or campaign of their choice. In their effort to make a difference in the world, Seventh Generation is encouraging all of its trade partners to participate in the Voteworks campaign. A feature story in the August Non-Toxic Times, the online newsletter, publicizes Seventh Generation's effort in promoting the vote. By encouraging people to vote, Seventh Generation is reinvigorating democracy in America and inspiring people to make a decision that will make a difference today and for the next seven generations. |
