Organic Valley Family of Farms
National Campaign

“One of the best ways to express your support for organic family farmers is through local, state and national elections. The candidates you choose will determine agricultural policies that affect the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the food you feed to your family,” said Theresa Marquez, Public Affairs Director for the cooperative.

Organic Valley Family of Farms, America’s leading organic farmers’ cooperative, is helping to spread the word about the need to get out and vote in the November 2nd election. Organic Valley’s “Get Out the Vote!” program featured an e-blast to its Farm Friends mailing list. Recipients were encouraged to spread the word by sending “Get Out the Vote!” e-postcards.

The organic farmers' cooperative also set up a homepage banner (www.organicvalley.coop) and a web page with links to two helpful sites: www.votercall.org to learn how to make calls to help get out the vote; and www.electionmatch.org to discover other supportive opportunities. The e-blast urged everyone to bring five people to the polls, get at least five others to the polls too, and remember to vote on Nov. 2nd.

Organized in 1988, Organic Valley Family of Farms represents 633 organic farmers in 17 states. It is the only national organic brand that is 100% farmer-owned, and it’s the only independent national organic dairy in the country.
