The strength of America's democracy depends on the active involvement of its citizens.

Employers can encourage their employees to play their role in non-partisan activities by:

  • giving employees some limited paid leave on Election Day or in the days and weeks leading up to Election Day enabling them to work for non-partisan 501c3 election and voter-related initiatives
  • giving employees the option to take some limited unpaid leave for those activities
  • promote non-partisan election and voter-related volunteer initiatives through internal websites, newsletters and other communications with employees
  • providing matching grants for employee contributions to non-partisan 501c3 election and voter-related initiatives

There are some excellent websites to promote non-partisan voter engagement activities. ElectionMatch is one from National Voice.

Voteworks can facilitate access to this type of information, from your employee intranet or in other ways.
